Dog Daycare Rules and Policies

Guest Requirements:
Guests must be at least 6 months old, spayed or neutered, and current on vaccinations for Rabies, Distemper, Parvovirus, and a 6 month booster for Bordetella (canine cough). Copies of vaccination records are required during the evaluation process. Guests must be in good health, flea/tick free, friendly to all dogs/humans, and generally love to play as evidenced by the required Temperament Test. All vaccination forms can be uploaded through your client portal, emailed to us at [email protected].

Enrollment Process:
To be accepted, a behavior and health questionnaire must be filled out. While it is being reviewed, a Bowhaus associate will take our prospective guest around the day care and introduced to a possible playgroup. A general behavior assessment will be taken and some daycare consultation will be provided to you. The whole process will generally take 30 minutes to an hour. This process is to ensure the safest facility allowing for the most fun! Appointments are REQUIRED for this initial assessment.

We try to keep an open door policy for all of our already enrolled guests to drop off, however, reservations are highly recommended so please give us a call beforehand so that you won’t have to turn back around when you get here.

What to bring:
The only thing our guests will need is a quick release collar. Please leave all of Buster’s favorite toys at home as we may not be able to control the location of his playful belongings! If certain items must be brought, such as a security blanket or apparel, Bowhaus Pet Company cannot be held responsible for any lost items, but we’ll try to keep track of them for you.

Boarding Policy:
All dogs boarding with The Bowhaus Pet Company must meet the same requirements as our doggie daycare dogs.  Dogs are free to roam in a kennel free environment and will only be crated UPON REQUEST of the pet parent.  However, if our staff finds it necessary to crate for any reason, the Bowhaus Pet Company reserves the right to crate immediately.  We will contact you by email or phone should an incident occur where crating is necessary. 

Guests must be picked up by Noon after the final night.  Any guests picked up after Noon will incur a half day daycare charge ($15.00).  Guests that have Exit Baths or Grooms scheduled will not be charged day care charges on the final day.

Drop off and Pick up must be done during business hours:  
Special arrangements can be made for early drop off or late pick up not exceeding 1 hour prior to opening or 2 hours after closing.  An Early Drop off or Late Pick Up fee of $10 per dog will be applied to your check at check out.  Any dog not picked up after 2 hours from closing will be checked into boarding and boarding fees will begin to accrue.  If boarding is checked in, Late Pick-Up charges do not apply for that evening.

DAILY WALKS:  Guests with requested walks will be subject to a walking fee.  Walks are provided on staff availability and weather permitted basis.  If guests are not able to make the walk, no charge will be issued.  All walks are documented with a time out and in the record.  Walks typically take 15 minutes around the block.  Client agrees to release liability of any incident that occurs on walks.  This includes but is not limited to, paw injuries, dog fights, dog bites, insect bites, or acts of other people.  All walkers are required to wear safety vests, carry poop bags, whistles, and leash the dog before exiting the facility.

PACKAGE EXPIRATION DATES:  All daycare packages hold an expiration date 180 days from the date of purchase.  Any unused days remaining after the expiration date are forfeit and will no longer be valid for use at the Bowhaus Pet Company.  No refunds will be issued for days remaining after the expiration date. 

LONG TERM GUESTS staying for more than 2 weeks will require a prepayment along with a credit card to be held on file in the event of further extension and incidentals such as additional food, products, and vet visits.

ABANDONMENT: If the dog(s) is/are not picked up within fourteen (14) days after it was initially scheduled to be picked up, it is considered to be abandoned. The Bowhaus Pet Company shall first try for a period of not less than ten (10) days to find a new owner for the dog(s) or turn the dog(s) over to a public Animal Control Agency or Shelter, Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Shelter, Humane Society Shelter, or nonprofit Animal Rescue Group, provided the shelter or rescue group has been contacted and has agreed to take the dog(s).

Liability Waiver:
SCR Holding Co., Inc., which will do business in the State of California as Bowhaus Pet Company, (hereafter as “Bowhaus Pet Company”) will endeavor to offer only sound, safe, and responsible care for my dog(s).  However, I understand the risks inherent in dog daycare, including but not limited to interactions with other dogs and potential exposure to disease and parasites such as but not limited to fleas. Further, I am and will remain responsible for the actions of my dog at all times and I hereby agree to indemnify and hold harmless Bowhaus Pet Company of any and all claims of injury, expense, costs, or damages caused by the actions of my dog while under Bowhaus Pet Company care. I have been told by Bowhaus Pet Company and understand the inherent risks of owning a dog, including but not limited to the risk of dog bites to myself or others. I recognize that Bowhaus Pet Company is not responsible for any unintentional errors, omissions, or incorrect assertions. I understand that the recommendation of any other product or service is not a guarantee of my satisfaction with that product or service. 

Emergency Vet Care:
We are partners with Animal AM Emergency Clinic of Pasadena located on 2121 E. Foothill Blvd. Pasadena, CA 91107. 626-578-1725 & Pasadena Pets 2850 E. Foothill Blvd. Pasadena, CA 91107. 626-568-1115. 

In the case of emergency care, our staff will notify all parties of any dog injury situation.  If the owner is unable to pick up dog in a reasonable amount of time, Bowhaus Pet Company is authorized to seek immediate medical attention from either vet partner.  All charges prepaid by The Bowhaus Pet Company will be reimbursed by patient owners.  Any further financial compensation is to be worked out by owners of dogs involved. Owner will reimburse Bowhaus Pet Company for any charges related to emergency care including the full cost of vet invoice plus a professional service fee (20%). I agree to indemnify and hold harmless Bowhaus Pet Company for all and any results thereof.
